A lawsuit has been filed against Edward D. Jones & Co., L.P. (“Edward Jones”) by Kathryn Holland (“Plaintiff”), who was previously employed in California as a Financial Advisor by Edwad Jones. The lawsuit is entitled: Holland v. Edward D. Jones & Co., L.P., Case No. CV0005493 pending in the Marin County Superior Court.
In this lawsuit, Plaintiff has filed legal claims to recover wages, unreimbursed business expenses and penalties for all current and former Edward Jones Financial Advisor employees who worked any time in California from February 26, 2021, through the present. Edward Jones denies all of Plaintiff’s claims.
If you received notice, according to Edward Jones’ records, you worked as a Financial Advisor employee in California between February 26, 2021, and the present. The Notice is to notify you that Plaintiff’s attorneys in the above-captioned case are seeking to obtain your name, address, email address, and personal telephone number so that they may communicate with you about the allegations made in the lawsuit. It is entirely your choice whether or not to have your personal contact information disclosed to Plaintiff and her attorneys.
The Court does not endorse any of the statements contained herein. The Court has not rendered any opinion as to the merits of this case. The Court has not yet determined whether to allow this lawsuit to proceed on behalf of anyone other than the above-named Plaintiff. Nor has any determination been made regarding enforceability of arbitration agreements that some employees have executed.
To ensure your rights of privacy, the parties have agreed that the Notice be sent to you to allow you to decide whether you want your name and personal contact information disclosed. Edward Jones has not yet released your name and personal contact information, and you may elect not to have your information provided to Plaintiff’s attorneys. You have two choices:
Option One: Do Nothing: If you do not object to your name, home address, email address and personal telephone number being disclosed to Plaintiff and Plaintiff’s attorneys, you do not need to take any action. Your contact information will be released to Plaintiff’s attorneys.
Option Two: Object: If you do object to your name, home address, email address and personal telephone number being disclosed to Plaintiff and Plaintiff’s attorneys, you must sign the card you received with your Notice and mail it, postmarked no later than August 24, 2026, to:
